SEO Case Study 2: A Student Travel Web Site

In June of 2007, Maximum Web Marketing was retained to promote a student travel website built on a Contribute system.  The required 3,000-3,500 words of keyword text were uploaded monthly. Within less than one month of the campaign the client site produced excellent results on Google. The web site ranked on page one for desirable geographically specific keywords such as student travel and Washington D.C., Orlando, and New York City.  During the last quarter of 2007 and the first quarter of 2008, a programmer optimized site pages for primary markets and upgraded graphics to improve the usability of the Request a Quote feature.

A six-month comparison chart was cast between June and December 2007 and 2008.  Search generated 700 visits during the 2007 period measured and 1779 visits during the same period in 2008, showing an increase of search traffic of 140%. The client reports 800 leads were received via the Request a Quote feature in 2008. This client has reduced investments in direct mail campaigns and staff because website marketing is more cost effective, efficient and has a higher rate of return.
